In Year Two the children took part in a DT project day. The aim of the day was to make a moving toy using a scissor mechanism. The children had to use many different DT skills in order to do this. The children began by designing their moving toy and thinking carefully about all of the equipment they would need. When beginning their moving toy were required to measure their dowling, this had to be an accurate and precise measure in order for the toy to work. Next the children used a hand saw and carefully cut the dowling to the correct length. The dowling was then attached using different types of cams. The children thoroughly enjoyed this day and all created a working moving toy!
