At Castle Hill we help the children to focus on different behaviours by using our MAGIC habits and PROUD traits. This helps children to focus on different habits and traits through learning and play.
Learning with MAGIC habits and Bobby Brain
All pupils at Castle Hill are taught what MAGIC habits are and how we use them within our learning to help us be the best we can be.
I: I can
We give children the opportunity through the use of MAGIC habits and assemblies to develop confidence, self-motivation and an understanding of their rights and responsibilities within our diverse society.
PSHE is not only taught through the Jigsaw scheme but in a variety of ways as a discrete subject, through Bobby Brain, MAGIC habit lessons, assemblies and through other subjects such as RE, History, Geography, Literacy, Maths and Science, as well as through outdoor educational visits, community work and activities.
Each week, teachers will ask the pupils what MAGIC habits they have used in their learning and document their experiences on a classroom display board for everyone to be inspired by.
Pupils are encouraged, when stuck, to refer to the MAGIC habit board and think carefully about what habit they need to use, how it will help them and to stay positive with their attitude.
