Guidance and Expectations

Our aim is to develop an enthusiasm, foster curiosity and develop a secure understanding and appreciation of the wonders of the world we live in.

Through Science education at Castle Hill we equip pupils with the ability to understand the world in which we live in through the disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics. Over many years, science has changed the way in which we live our lives and it is fundamental to the world’s future prosperity. At Castle Hill we encourage pupils to develop a sense of curiosity and excitement about natural phenomena. Pupils are taught to observe, ask questions, make predictions and give explanations. Through their own investigations, pupils gather important knowledge and skills which they can then use to make sense of the world.

Science at Castle Hill aims to ensure that all pupils:

  • Develop their scientific knowledge and understanding through the disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics

  • Develop their understanding through different science enquiries that help them to answer questions about the world around them

  • Are equipped with the scientific knowledge required to understand the uses and implications of science, today and for the future
