Priorities for 2009/2010
- To ensure consistency of high quality teaching and learning throughout the school and particularly KS2 to enable all groups of pupils to make two sub-levels of progress in a year.
- Make more effective use of assessment for learning and target setting to personalise learning, improve differentiation and raise standards. Implement Building Learning Power project to develop children's awareness and skills as learners.
- a. Continue to raise standards in Reading, particularly at KS1, and in Writing at KS2.
b. Improve opportunities to develop pre-writing skills in the Foundation Stage to increase the number of children reaching 6+ at the end of Early Years Foundation Stage. - Continue to raise standards in Mathematics at Key Stage 2 through implementing the new Primary Strategy.
- Continue to develop leadership skills of the new Senior and Middle Management teams in contributing to school improvement.
- Continue to develop the Children's Centre to meet the needs of children under 5 and their families and, in particular, those with additional needs.
Continue to develop Extended School provision as a lead school in the South of the Borough Cluster.
