School Security and Safety
We welcome parents, members of the local community and other visitors into our school. However, we do need to ensure the safety of the children. We therefore request parents of children in Nursery, Reception and KS1 to wait in the waiting area designated for their child's class. At the end of school sessions, staff will escort the children to the waiting area to meet you. We ask that KS2 children should not be on site on their own before 8.30am. We also ask parents of KS2 children to wait until 3 pm before entering their waiting area in the afternoon.
We also ask you to always report to the School Office if you come into the school during the day for any reason. If you are helping in school you will need to sign in and out at the office and wear a badge identifying you as a parent helper. If you bring your child into school late please report to the School Office to sign in the late book.
The car parks are for staff only and we appeal to parents not to park or turn outside the school gates as this is a danger to the children, and is illegal. There is parking space in Moor Lane and North Parade. Alternatively we would appreciate it if you could walk to school with your child.
For safety reasons we ask you to ensure that bicycles, skateboards, scooters and roller blades are not used in the school grounds. Also we ask you not to bring dogs onto the school premises. The school grounds and buildings are no smoking areas.
Child Protection
The school has a responsibility to safeguard all children. All staff and regular parent helpers are required to be CRB checked. The school follows the LA recommended procedures for child protection. Any concerns reported by staff to the designated child protection teachers (the Headteacher and Deputy Heads) are followed up according to the legal requirements and in strict confidence. Outside agencies are involved as appropriate and parents are kept informed.
