End of Key Stage 1 & 2 Assessments (SATs)
"Pupils are prepared well for the next stage of schooling through a strong focus on promoting their basic skills." - OFSTED, November 2008.
In Year 2, towards the end of Key Stage 1, and again in Year 6, at the end of Key Stage 2, each child is assessed on their progress in the National Curriculum core subjects. In KS1 this is by means of teacher assessment informed by SATs (Standard Assessment Tests and Tasks) and at KS2 by SATs tests. Each child is then given a level according to their achievements.
