Partnership with parents.

At Castle Hill we acknowledge the important part parents play in their children's education. The relationship between a child's home and school forms an important part of a successful education and we provide many opportunities to develop the partnership with parents.

We hold termly meetings between parents and class teachers to keep you regularly informed of your child's progress. In the Summer Term we send a you a copy of your child's 'Record of Achievement' for the past year. We also hold parents meetings for each year group.

Each child in Years 3 to 6 will have a home contact book. This may be the most convenient first line of contact between home and school for the older children. It is incredibly helpful both to us and to you as parents. Parents are welcome to write informal notes to teachers in this book, and teachers will also write informal notes to parents. Children will use it to write homework instructions, reminders to bring swimming kit, PE kit, reminders about parents evenings, school letters requiring responses etc.

What to do if you have concerns about your child:

From time to time parents may have concerns about their child. The class teachers are always willing to see you at the end of the day if you have anything you wish to discuss. A message can always be left with the office to make an appointment or to arrange to have a telephone conversation with the teacher if that is more convenient. If you have any concerns about your child's progress you are most welcome to make an appointment with the Headteacher.
