Castle Hill Primary School is a two form entry Community Primary School with a Nursery and with Speech and Language specialist provision for both Nursery and Infant age children.

The school takes its name from some ancient earth works which are next to the Bonesgate Stream on the eastern edge of Chessington Parish and next to Horton Country Park.

Castle Hill is part of a large estate which has belonged to Merton College, Oxford since 1262. At that time it was probably enclosed as a deer park. It seems likely that the earthworks were the site of a hunting lodge or the farm buildings belonging to a steward for the estate.

The main school buildings have spacious and attractive accommodation with purpose built Nursery and Reception classrooms and a music and drama hall. A 'mobile village' of classrooms has been set up to accomodate Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils whilst the extension to the main building is under development.

The school has extensive grounds with many mature trees and an ancient hedgerow which provides an excellent area for environmental study. There are two fields and a large playground with a special adjoining outside learning area for Reception children. The Nursery has its own secure playing areas which enable the children to experience a wide variety of outside activities. Both Nursery and the main school playgrounds have climbing apparatus with safety surfaces. All the classrooms have their own outside area and there are three very attractive quadrangles with different habitats.

The children in years 2 to 6 use the swimming pool at the Moor Lane site and KS2 sports take place on the extensive playing fields there.
